Omega Dot offers flexible Work Packages to meet the requirements and budget available from our clients.  We understand every client will have their own unique constraints, targets and time scales.  The following Work Packages are examples of the type of services we offer.  We believe in working closely with our clients to achieve a common goal.

WP1 - Bearing Manufacturing

  • We have the expertise and facility to manufacture complete sets of air foil bearings, both radial and thrust bearings.
  • This includes precision cutting of sleeves and foils, heat treatment cycles, coatings application, bearing build and some verification testing.
  • For small batch sizes, we can manufacture air foil bearings according to the specifications and drawings provided.
  • This is ideal for those who has their own designs and wishes to have some prototype samples made for testing.  Or for those who wishes to try out new air bearings designs.

WP2 - Bearing Design

  • Design and manufacture of air foil bearings to meet your specifications.
  • Our expertise in air bearings allows us to provide the most suitable design to meet your machine specification.
  • We offer design options from flexible and high performance, suitable for prototype testing, to affordable designs for large scale manufacturing.
  • This is always a balance between affordable manufacturing costs and reliable performance.

WP3 - Turbo-machinery Support and Bearing Integration

  • Full benefits of air bearings can only be exploited when the machine can be designed to be more compact and with higher speed capabilities.
  • Our expertise in turbomachinery and practical experiences with high-speed motors, compressors, turbines and couplings allows us to support the design of the machine and the integration of air bearings.
  • For high-speed applications, we pay particular attention to the stability and rotordynamics study of the shaft assembly.

WP4 - Technical Consultancy and Knowledge Transfer

  • We offer consultancy services to support your R&D activities and also knowledge transfer for high volume manufacturing of air foil bearings.
  • Support for testing of high speed machines such as micro gas turbines, turbo compressors and turbo motors.
  • We can create customised data logging systems, instrumentation, vibration measurements and other condition monitoring systems to support your testing.
  • From our established network, we can offer support for high precision manufacturing of rotor parts, high-speed motors, compressor and turbine wheels.
